In 2021, at the height of the pandemic, it was heartbreaking for Edwin and Ana Lee seeing friends getting unemployed because of businesses closures and economic downturns.
Driven by their passion to help, Edwin and Ana Lee started sharing their knowledge on accounting and bookkeeping and founded BA to provide employment while also to be able to accommodate more clients to ease their burdens on financial account reconciliation, data entry, cashflow monitoring, among other back office tasks for full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting.
Prior to the pandemic, Edwin and Ana Lee have been doing freelancing job since 2014 doing full-charge accounting and bookkeeping for a few accounting firms and individual clients of all sizes in the US and Canada. They were working at the comfort of their homes and avoided the hassle of morning drive and traffic jam as expected in an urban life.
During the spread of the dreadful pandemic, they have already established their online career working remotely and then comes “working at home” was a hit” because everybody can not roam around the street. The opportunity to start BA just came naturally when they were already “at the right time and the right place”. With their expertise in accounting and bookkeeping, they were able to conceptualize the business.
